The National Food and Nutrition Security Policy (NFNSP) was approved by the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) in August 2020 and aims to ensure that the country achieves its food and nutrition security-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fulfills the relevant national and international commitments by 2030.
The National Nutrition Week was observed throughout Bangladesh from May 9th to May 15th, 2024. As part of the PRLC project of MJF supported by European Unions, various actions were implemented in collaboration with the Health and Family Planning Department to commemorate National Nutrition Week.
1. Conducted awareness sessions on Food, Nutrition, and Menstrual Hygiene at 9 schools in Rangamati, Khagrachari, and Bandarban Districts.
2. Established Nutrition Corners at 9 schools by distributing hygiene and menstrual management materials to Khagrachari, Rangamati, and Bandarban District students.
3. Organized awareness sessions for mothers' groups in Rangamati District in collaboration with the Civil Surgeon's Office.
4. Conducted an awareness session on the diversified food and nutritional values of locally available food, followed by a cooking competition among mothers.
5. Distributed Nutritious Food at orphanages in Khagrachari and Rangamati Districts in collaboration with the Civil Surgeon's Office.

The MJF CHT office was inaugurated on September 4, 2023, along with the signing ceremony of the Deed of Agreement with partner NGOs for the PRLC project implementation.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Shaheen Anam, the Executive Director of MJF; Barrister Raja Devasish Roy, the Chief of Chakma Circle; Nirupa Dewan, a member of the MJF Governing Board; representatives from the Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council; the Rangamati Hill District Council; and the UNDP Rangamati office.
Banasree Mitra Neogi, Director-Programmes delivered a warm welcome t speech at the event and provided a concise overview of the PRLC project.
The signing of the Deed of Agreement took place after the inauguration ceremony. Nine partner organizations will be rolling out the initiative through eight Upazillas in Chittagong Hill tracts.

MJF is currently implementing a project titled "Partnership for Resilient Livelihoods in CHT region (PRLC)" in three hill districts, with financial support from the European Union of Bangladesh. The project's field-level activities are being carried out by nine locally based NGOs, in partnership with MJF.
Since March 2024, the partner organizations have been facilitating 225 Climate Smart- Integrated Farm Management-Farmers Field Schools (CS-IFM-FS), through practical demonstrations to disseminate climate-smart technologies for agriculture, livestock, and fisheries to disadvantaged farmers.
A total of 675 Farmers' Field Schools (FFS) will be established and facilitated under the PRLC project, benefiting approximately 20,000 farmers and their households through this FFS model.
